Wizardry in Progress 7/5/18

As yesterday was Independence Day and I was busy all day, I didn't get a chance to do this week's Wizardry in Progress. So here it is, a day late. But, better late than never I suppose.

This week I started playing around with my new Leviathan Dreadnought, which arrived while I was gone to Illinois for Midwest Miniature Madness. He's been an interesting build and he's packed to the gills with magnets!

The only other thing to happen this week was an unpacking of my painting equipment and getting my desk set back up. It's been a busy few weeks, but I'm hyped to get back to work in my dedicated studio space.

The Leviathan Dreadnought is all built!

While I did do Zugg for Blood Bowl, I really consider this to my my first real Forge World build, this guy was an in-depth build.

All of his arm options attach via magnets and his missile pack is as well. The rear of his shoulders have magnetized rear covers that swap out depending on if an arm is using a ranged weapon or the melee arms.

Speaking of the melee arms, I was able to use the arm that came with the Siege Claw and Siege Drill and make a left and right arm. While I don't have duplicates of either arm, it will allow me to use a melee arm on either side now, which is fun.

There are still a few things I want to do to it to make it fit in with the Deathwatch some more. But that'll have to wait for a little while.

His base was done with some cork and green stuff to make him look like he's stepping forward. I'd seen a lot of Levis looking like they were running, but I've never been a big fan of that pose.

For mine, I wanted it to convey the idea that he is a slow and heavy beast of a machine. I think this pose does the trick nicely.

For now, he's basically ready for games, other than he is only blue tac'd to the base. He won't be seeing paint for awhile, as I have a Blood Angels commission to finish. But he's going to look bad ass when he's finished.
