Announcement: Let's Paint Going on Hiatus

Hey there everybody. Today I have an announcement, which has been a tough call to make. Due to the holidays, the Blood Angels commission and not having a ton of free time I can't keep up with producing content for Let's Paint right at the moment.

So, Let's Paint is going to go on hiatus.
I've very proud of how far Let's Paint has come over the last year. I am especially proud of the Terminator Captain and Redemptor Dreadnought (which will be coming after New Years). It's been a great learning experience to produce this series of videos and I am really happy with how the latest ones have turned out.

The Blood Angels Terminator Captain has been the most well received series of videos since the orange Kastelan Robot video and it feels like I'm finally starting to gain some traction. Which makes this announcement of a hiatus all the more crappy.

When I first started planning to do Let's Paint as a full on thing, last March at Adepticon, I had the goal of showing off some really cool models from various companies. I have a pile full of models from Arena Rex, Reaper, Forge World, Black Heart Models, Red Box Games, Scale75, Nuts Planet and more all just sitting in a box, neglected.

I feel like a bit of a failure in that regard. Because making videos of all of the Games Workshop models has taken away from that original goal and as such I need to take a step back and just hammer them out off camera, so I can return to that pile of cool stuff I've been itching to show off.

Secondly, with Let's Paint taking a break and since the Patreon is tied exclusively to Let's Paint I will be shutting it down as well, with the last video of the Terminator Captain.

I'd like to say a quick thank you to Eugene and Logan, I really appreciate the support that I've gotten from you guys for sticking with me since I launched. But, if I'm not consistently producing content for Let's Paint I can't justify keeping the page going and soaking up donations for doing nothing.

All that said, I'm going into 2019 with new plans.

I'm looking to refocus YouTube and work on growing the channel with different content, including showcase videos of finished models and unboxings of kits with the occasional series of Let's Paint videos.

I'm planning to do a major update to the website. While this year has been great for keeping the site up to date, I think its overdue for a redesign. I'll keep you all posted on that as it comes closer to fruition.

It's a sad day, but the future of my hobby is pretty bright. I can't wait to see where 2019 goes. Maybe some day I'll relaunch the Patreon page, but for now I'm just going to do what I do.

Thanks folks.
