Wizardry in Progress 5/8/19

Are you bored of Steel Legion yet? Well... work continues on the Steel Legion this week!

While I didn't get much hobby time in this week, because of Jeep and house repairs, I did manage a few things. This week, I painted a second Chimera and assembled another one. I also built a new Platoon Commander to go along with my Veterans.

Let's check it out!

Platoon Commander

My currently planned list features 3 Veteran squads jumping out of Valkyries, each with a commander to give them orders.

This fella was made by using a chest piece from a tank trooper, a leftover set of arms from the Death Korps of Krieg Engineers, a head from Victoria Miniatures and the legs from the DKOK infantryman that I cut in half for the biker test mini.

I'm really happy with how he turned out too. He's super cool and unique! He should look pretty good along with the Vets. I think I am also going to paint him in the SpecOps coloring, rather than the HQ Black/Red that I have Commissar Yarrick painted in.

I'll probably get painted later on this next week.

Chimeras

Sunday, I stayed home and did a bunch of plumbing work around the house. Afterwards I got to work painting up the 2nd Chimera.

Each of my main infantry squads are marked with a different color and their ride is marked with their squad color too.

For this one, it is for blue squad so it has blue stripes and a blue panel on the rear of the turret. It has all of the marking for the Steel Legion on it and the Company C, 1st Platoon markings on the back of the turret.

As with all of the Imperial Guard tanks, this fella painted up really quickly and I was done with it by the end of the night.

Then the following day I assembled a third Chimera for green squad. I had fully intended to paint it up that night as well. But I started not feeling well.

I did prime it black, but painting won't start until Wednesday night.

Which is tonight!

Time to get painting, so it's time to wrap this up.

Until next time, you can catch me on Twitter and Instagram. Check out YouTube for the Let's Paint series and other videos.

If you like what I do and want to support the site and my painting endeavors, you can do so over on Ko-fi. All it takes is $3 and it's much appreciated. Also, you can buy The Brush Wizard shirts and such over on my Teespring shop, where you'll find a growing selection of shirts and other goodies.
