Silas WIP - It's Log!

Been awhile since I posted. I've been super busy this last week and have a major project going on that needs to be done by the 24th of next month. This means that my miniatures projects have to take a little bit of a back seat for the moment while I bust my ass to get this other project done. But, I do have a minor update to share, so here goes.

I was debating on adding a stick to the base to act as a log and had scrounged a few different twigs to see how they looked. The original ones were way too big and looked very bad next to everything else. I tried a few more and didn't like the results and started to think that maybe a log wasn't needed.

But, the more I looked at the base, the more I realized that the thing has a lot of green and no other colors. And that a log on the ground could really make it pop. Though I wasn't liking any of the twigs I had already found.

Then, I was walking out to my car after work and happened to look down and saw a twig sitting there. It looked like it was well weathered and small enough for what I wanted. So I snagged it and broke it down to the size I needed, checked it with the base and it looks like it'll turn out really good!

It's Log, It's Log. It's big, it's heavy, it's wood!

So now I've shaved part of the end that is in the water area down to make it seem like it's in deeper than it really is and will paint it as soon as I can. Also, I've decided that I'm going to attempt to make some cattails and put them in with the bunch of reeds next to the rock. Once those are all set, I should be ready for the water to go onto the base. And them maybe I can finally get to painting the actual miniature.
